Stop

Your jazz musician painting was pretty good but your comics are neither funny nor insightful. And no I'm not just butthurt about your stances; they're just plain dumb to share in comics on NewGrounds. You don't really have to stop making shitty comics, but I'd fully support it.

Esn responds:

Well, the situation isn't really funny. The purpose of this particular comic is to present a bitter pill in a palatable manner. Because of this need to maintain balance, the graphical side is extremely simple and cheery, taking the format of a silly cartoon romp to balance out the comparatively complex ideas being presented. I'm sorry that it didn't work for you. However, your assertion that it is not insightful is the one I regret more. If you don't think that the contradiction shown is particularly insightful, I guess you either don't believe that it is true (it is, though - even a bit of perfunctory research will confirm that for you), or you are more cynical than I am and believe that everyone knows this already but accepts it as proper. Or, despite your statement to the contrary, you're a partisan hack who plugs his ears at the first hint of anything contradicting his views. Or maybe you didn't care to follow the text and gave your rating based on the visuals alone.

(I had a different reply here earlier, but it wasn't a very good one)

I was going to troll you

But you're actually pretty good. The rest of the art portal really does suck though.

Esn responds:

I'd love to read your reviews of the rest of the art portal, but unfortunately they haven't yet implemented the feature allowing us to read our old AP reviews.

Love this.

Were you inspired a little by algae? The blue and green go very well together, and I like the texture and the overall shape. I honestly can't see anythin wrong with this.

HeavyTank responds:

Yes....well, thanks l guess, but l don't get it..didn't you hate digital art?

Cool

There are prospects, develop

J0x responds:

hahaha)))

It's alright

Try working on the line values and foreshortening though.

Zero-drk responds:

i totally promise ill search for those

I hve just gotten back to lightspeed

HeavyTank responds:

what kind of review is this?

Deeper than the deepest deep times infinity

Man, I haven't seen that pose since 3 minutes ago. Maybe it doesn't matter, anyway, because it's not like your line values did it justice. You could have potential in your shading. Maybe, that is, if you black the whole thing out. I have some spectacular examples on my art portal. See it. Learn it. Envy it. In particular, maybe you should do a study on Free Thought, my finest work.

ArtistGamerGal responds:

well someone's full of them self... 0_0

The golden ratio

You've misused the golden ratio, as well as basic foreshortening. To top that, a robot on a swing? That's just terribly uncreative and an insult to art. If you want real talent, check out my work. A few decades of art school could help you.

LaserKarl responds:

Aren't you a bit old for this stuff man?

Your best work

This is definitely the most well-put-together piece on your portal, but it shows an almost offensive lack of originality and detail. You could be going for abstract, but that's not even clear. It's not new enough to be avante-garde and it's too pretentious and haughty to be considered a good piece of fine art. I'm sorry. You show potential, but you need some serious practice and perhaps a few years of art training.

HeavyTank responds:

This is my best work?
dude...l don't do art for a living, just for fun...

A major stepback in art theory

The lines bring out nothing but a garrish mess from your medium. I see you've been looking into the style of Pollock, but you've missed the subtlety and technique he worked into his paintings. Keep looking into his works and I think you could go places.

HeavyTank responds:

....say what?
I didn't look into the style of pollock, l just made it...
Again, l am not a pro in art, l do it for fun..

I've read No Logos by Naomi Klein, but it failed to teach me anything I didn't already know. I'll listen to anything but country and rap.
